How a protected deal works
Four steps, one accountable chain of custody. Every action is timestamped in an audit timeline both parties can read.

Agree off-platform
You find the deal on Marketplace, OfferUp, Craigslist, or eBay and agree on a price.
Step 2
Terms are locked in
The seller confirms the item, price, and pickup details before anything moves. Payment is collected before the item moves.
Step 3
Condition documented
Item condition is documented at handoff. When a courier is used, a vetted SureHandoff courier photographs all four sides, records a video, and runs a condition checklist.
Step 4
You approve
Review the evidence after the handoff. Approve the handoff, or report a problem to open a dispute.

Courier delivery or protected self-pickup
Choose a vetted courier so you never have to meet, or coordinate a protected self-pickup with verified arrival and a handoff code.

Who holds the money
SureHandoff does not hold your money. Protected funds are handled by our payment-protection partner. Seller proceeds become eligible for release through that partner only after the applicable approval or review process, plus any required seller verification, dispute or provider review, holds and settlement conditions. SureHandoff runs the workflow around the deal — confirming terms, coordinating the handoff, collecting the condition evidence, and making the decision if a dispute is opened.
During the pilot, the agreed item price must be between $25 and $1,500. Couriers are paid separately by SureHandoff, not by the payment partner.
